In this blog post, I will explore one common factor that can contribute to binge eating – restriction – and offer some starting points for understanding and changing the binge eating cycle.

Why change is so difficult? Why are we longing for change so badly, but always find it so difficult to stick to new habits?

Why we choose comfort over what we really want is not simply a question of willpower. Most of us have moments when we act against our longer-term wishes. We want to rest, but keep scrolling. We want to feel healthier, but reach for food when we are not hungry. We want emotional closeness, but withdraw. We want to be visible, but hide. We want change, but stay with what is familiar.
